Celebrating Roald Amundsen

This week I am in Tromsø and celebrating Roald Amundsen´s Centennial Anniversary 14 December 2011.
I will lecture at an Amundsen Seminar 13 December. December 14 is it a full day program in Tromsø. More here.
Thursday I am going to have a lecture for school children.

There are a hundres of people that have expeditions and events at the South Pole this year. Ann Bancroft and I are going back next year combining adventure and education. Skiing in the footsteps of Amundsen in the spirit of Nansen. You can learn more about our «Access Water 2012» here.

Liv is a Norwegian educator, cross-country skier, adventurer, guide, and motivational speaker. Arnesen led the first unsupported women’s crossing of the Greenland Ice Cap in 1992. In 1994, she made international headlines becoming the first woman in the world to ski solo and unsupported to the South pole – a 50-day expedition of 745 miles (1,200 km).
